Bawdwin Mine



The Bawdwin mine is the single largest producer of lead, Zinc and Sliver in Myanmar. It is lies one of the richest Lead-Zinc deposit of the world. The Bawdwin mine is located at Latitude 23º7’ N and Longitude 97º 17’ E in Namtu Township, Northern Shan State, Myanmar. The mine is round about 14 miles from Namtu and is situated in the Hilly region. Namtu is situated 44 miles from North-West of Lashio. The mine is linked to Namtu by a narrow gauge and by unsealed road. Namtu lies 42 miles by from Lashio. It lies on one inch topographic map sheet of 93 E/8.
